Inside Mount vs. Outside Mount: Which Is Right for You? 

It's the question we hear most, and the answer shapes both look and performance: 

Inside mount installs the shade within the window frame for a clean, built-in appearance that shows off your trim. It does require enough frame depth to house the headrail and folds. Be sure to check the depth requirements on your product page before ordering. 

Outside mount installs the shade on the wall or trim above the window, overlapping the opening on all sides. It’s a great choice for shallow window frames, creating the illusion of a larger window, or maximizing light control with blackout shades by helping reduce light gaps around the edges.
